Burley woman dies in two-car crash

BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A 62-year-old Burley woman died in a two-car crashThursday afternoon.

Cassia County Undersheriff George Warrell said a witness reported seeing a Ford Fusion cross the center line near 515 East and Idaho Highway 81, striking a Chrysler Sebring.

The sheriff's office said a 16-year-old boy drive the Fusion the struck the car driven by Katherine Blauer.

Blauer died at the scene and was extricated from the car. The 16-year-old drive was also extricated from his car and flown to Portneuf Medical Center and his condition is unknown. Neither drive wore a seat belt.

The crash is still under investigation.

Cassia County deputies, West Cassia Quick Response Unit, Burley Fire Department, search and rescue extrication and an ambulance helicopter responded to the crash.
