CSI baseball falls in national tournament and ends up third

GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado (KMVT/KSVT) Before the CSI Golden Eagles took on San Jacinto the players got "mic-ed up" and Jake Nelson got a quick pre-game interview with Trent Bixby.

"You know I think the team with the most energy, the most just team spirit is really going to come out on top,” Bixby said. “I think it's a grind we are on day five of this tournament now. Pitching is going to be low, it's going to be a big hitting dual. We just have to come out and out energize them honestly."

Despite the positive attitudes when it came to game time though the Eagles wouldn't be able to hold on.

CSI lead through the top of the fourth inning but once San Jacinto took the lead they kept it going on to win 8-6.

In taking the loss the Eagles finished as the third place team in the country and a 52-12 overall record.
