Child dies after getting ran over by tractor in Jerome
The Jerome County Sheriff's Office said a two-year-old boy died from his injuries after getting accidentally ran over by a tractor.
Deputies responded to a private property in northwest Jerome on Wednesday, July 25 a little after 9 p.m.
According to a press release, Renato Rivera, 33, of Jerome, was operating a tractor while getting ready to feed calves. Jaime Rivera Jr., 2, of Jerome, was playing nearby and ran under the front of the tractor.
Officials said Renato had been backing up his tractor and began to pull forward when the accident happened.
Jaime succumbed to his injuries on scene, the sheriff's office said.
Authorities said no criminal charges have been filed. Jerome City Police assisted with the investigation.
