City of Rupert to get a Boys and Girls Club

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - The Boys and Girls Club of the Magic Valley will be expanding into the Rupert area later this year.

Executive Director Lindsey Westburg says the city of Rupert went to the organization last year, asking for a Boys and Girls Club in their area.

"There's really not a whole lot going on for youth over there, and so they came to the Boys and Girls Club and said 'Can we partner with you and get a club up and going and provide some services for our kids?'" Westburg explained.

The club plans to be operating out of the old Pershing School building, and Westburg said they are currently in fundraising mode and looking for volunteers.

"Our Magic Valley Boys and Girls Club board is really excited about the opportunity to expand and provide more services for youth throughout the Magic Valley," she said.

Westburg said their goal is to start their programs and services this June, which will include tutoring, recreational activities and more.
