Communities needed for annual 'Operation Facelift'

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization is taking applications for communities that want to take part in its annual Operation Facelift.

The event helps improve conditions of downtown areas in local communities.

This year some of the categories include best small business face lift, best community arts project and best place making project.

SEIDO says the real goal is to help bring more traffic and vibrancy to downtowns, and help strengthen the economy in those communities.

Cities that are interested in applying need to do so by the end of the month.

Executive Director Connie Stopher explained that they "divide the funds up by community, so that way we know how much we can give to each community to put towards their projects."

Communities wanting to take part in the event can call the Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization at 208-732–6459.
