TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Everyone is preparing for the New Year with new fitness and health goals.

The Complete Health Improvement Program also known as CHIP has made its way to the Magic Valley.

The program begins Jan. 8 and runs for nine weeks, meeting twice a week for an hour.

Here you'll get printed materials like a cookbook, exercise book as well as videos to watch and nearly 18 hours of information from a registered dietitian.

Anyone is welcome to participate as long as you're 18 years or older and will have a chance to work as a team to help one another reach their goals.

“I think CHIP is the perfect compilation of evidence based research and to use it in individual practice,” said Monique Middlekauff, cardiopulmonary services manager. “So whether someone has diabetes, cystic fibrosis, COPD or any of the other issues, obesity or just pain or maybe just aren't feeling very well. CHIP is such a wonderful way that combines all of the best evidence to help us make the right decisions.”

An info session will be held Jan. 3.
