Monday, Grant Loebs, the Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney, addressed the rumors going around social media about the sexual assault case at Fawnbrook Apartments.

Two minors are being charged with sexual assault of a 5-year-old. There was a third present who is not being charged and only one of the minors touched the victim.

Rumors that it was a gang rape, done at knife point and that the assailants are Syrian are all not true according to Loebs.

Loebs also said he is not sure if the two are refugees, and if they are they are not that recent because the refugee center does not place new refugees in the Fawnbrook Apartments.

Loebs also addressed the rumors that there is a cover up with the case.

"It's all absurd. There is cover up at all. There is no motive to cover up. If they were Syrians I would tell you they were Syrians and that we're prosecuting three Syrian refugees," he said. "It wouldn't bother me a bit to say that. But it bothers me if it's not true."

Loebs said that they are being tried as any American, or Idahoan would be tried because they committed a crime in the U.S.
