October closet clean-out coat drive

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Temperatures are dropping which means you're probably pulling coats and jackets out of your closet.

Tripp Family Medicine in Twin Falls is asking when you're taking out the warmer layers, anything that no longer fits or is wanted can be donated to those in need.

There is a large donation box in the main lobby that jackets and coats of all shapes and sizes can be dropped off. This is the fourth year the office has participated and sees these items going directly to those in need.

"We love to get the kids coats because we work with the elementary schools and try to get them in there so that the kids have access to coats as soon as they need them,” said Tripp Family Medicine Assistant Manager Shellien Gilliland. “However it's really rewarding to be able to take coats to the women's shelters and the men's shelters as well."

The coat drive started at the beginning of the month and will end on Halloween. The office's goal is to collect over 100 coats for donation.
