UPDATE: Driver in jail following fatal crash in Wendell

WENDELL, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) UPDATE: The Gooding County Sheriff's Office tells KMVT that Daniel Cruz Ortiz is being held on charges of aggravated DUI, vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.

Cruz Ortiz's arraignment is scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Twin Falls woman was killed after being involved in a head-on collision Saturday morning.

Idaho State Police said Daniel Cruz Ortiz, 21, of Wendell was driving southbound on Highway 46 and Jessie Otton, 26, of Twin Falls was driving northbound. Ortiz fell asleep on the wheel, crossed a center line and struck Otton's vehicle.

Otton died from her injuries at the scene, according to ISP.

The crash happened at about 6:37 a.m., two miles north of Wendell. All occupants were wearing seat belts. ISP also said there was a child inside Otton's car who was transported by air to St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Cruz Ortiz was not transported.

Gooding County Sheriff's Office, Wendell Fire Department and the Idaho Transportation Department responded as well.
