JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Fire crews spent a half hour putting out a truck hauling straw that caught on fire Monday afternoon.

The Jerome Rural Fire District responded to a parked semi-truck hauling a ton of straw bales that was parked on a private property near the KOA campground in Jerome County.

Fire Chief Joe Robinette said the fire started from an electrical short in the motor shortly after the driver pulled in and parked.

The driver was not in the vehicle at the time and no one was injured, but the truck was a total loss.
