BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Farmers from across the Magic Valley gathered in Burley Wednesday, for the 5th annual soil health workshop.

About 300 people attended the workshop,at the Burley convention center, where they got the dirt on how to make their farms the best they can be.

Speakers from places such as Nebraska and North Dakota came to talk, about things like making soil the best it can be, dairy feed, pest control, and cover crops.

Russ Suchan, a board member of the Minidoka Soil and Water Conservation District explained to KMVT that the conference is important for farmers to attend.

“It's kind of a neat workshop, because we're bringing in speakers that are known on a national level for the work that they've done in the area of cover cropping and no till systems,” Suchan explained.
