TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - Idaho Department of Fish and Game Magic Valley said they had a report on Wednesday for approximately 100 dead fish at Dierkes Lake.
After investigating, authorities said most of the dead fish were rainbow trout.
According to the Facebook post, the lake was recently stocked and the transport operator said water temperatures were suitable and did not notice immediate mortality after stocking the lake with the fish.
Officials said it looked like the fish either never left the boat ramp, got disoriented or moved to shallow water after being stocked.
They do not believe this is a large scale or pending fish kill and is not related to the dead fish found at the Burley trout pond.
