Fundraiser more than doubles goal for local domestic violence shelter
People gathered at The Risk in Jerome to enjoy music, entertainment, dinner and help a local shelter.
Voices Against Violence, a domestic violence shelter in Twin Falls, hoped the fundraiser would raise $30 thousand for their shelter. They more than doubled that.
The fundraiser brought in about $75 thousand.
The Risk in Jerome donated the venue for the night.
They say they were glad to help out Voices Against Violence.
"It's a real eye opener to me that in Twin Falls, Idaho this many women and children need a place to go stay and spend the night or whatever it takes to get them back on their feet," said Mike Roth, a part owner of The Risk. "It's the real deal. I wouldn't think that Twin Falls has that much of a need, but it really does."
