Gooding American Legion seeks military memorabilia to preserve history

GOODING , Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The American Legion Post 30 in Gooding is looking to preserve and recognize the history of veterans who fought for the country.

They're seeking military memorabilia donations from the community, specifically showcasing Gooding County veterans. But are open to accepting military items from across the Magic Valley.

Their plan is place all the items inside their memorial hall.

"Personal pictures of their experience in the service to our country," said American Legion Post 30 Cdr. David White. "Basically anything that we could hang on the wall that's appropriate for veterans."

White said if anyone wishes to donate military items, they can reach out to him by calling (208) 961-1492.

White went on to explain that they're also looking for volunteers to help maintain the memorial cemetery and be part of their rifle ceremony they perform during Memorial Day weekend.

Wendell American Legion Post 41 is also looking for new members and volunteers to be involved in their community efforts.
