Gowen Field hosting air show for first time in two decades

BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Idaho National Guard is hosting a open house and airshow at Gowen Field in Boise this weekend.

The show will be the first one at Gowen Field in more than 20 years.

It runs Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The United States Air Force Thunderbirds and their Canadian counterpart, the Royal Canadian Snowbirds will highlight the shows with precision aerial maneuvers both days.

The two groups don't often perform together.

The weekend is meant to highligt soldiers and airmen as well as their equipment and capability. The Idaho National Guard is expecting thousands to come to the show and open house.

Because of that the Idaho National Guard has set up a shuttle service for the event. Here is a list of locations:
