(KMVT/KSVT) - The Internal Revenue Service said they will be granting taxpayers an extra day to file or pay any taxes that were due on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Returns and payments are now due on Dec. 6.
The IRS gave this extra day after President Donald Trump issued an executive order for all federal agencies to be closed on Dec. 5 in honor of George H.W. Bush.
The one-day extension applies to any returns that are filed with the IRS. It also applies to federal tax payments and any federal income, payroll or excise tax deposits.
