Idaho tax commission extends hours in Twin Falls office on Tuesday

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Idaho Tax Commission announced extended hours at several of its offices for Tuesday, the day income taxes are due.

The Twin Falls office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. instead of its regular 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The office is at 440 Falls Ave.

The Idaho Tax Commission is also reminding people that Tuesday is also the last day to apply for a reduction in 2018 property taxes. You must give your application to the county assessor by then.

To qualify, you can have no more than $30,050 in total 2017 income. You must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. And you must be in one of the following categories by Jan. 1, 2018:

- Age 65 or older
- Blind
- Widow(er)
- Former prisoner of war or hostage
- Recognized as disabled by the Social Security Administration, Railroad Retirement Board, Federal Civil Service, a public employee retirement system not covered by these agencies, or by Veterans Affairs
- Fatherless or motherless child under 18 years old
