TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Jayco broke ground on a 248,000 square-foot expansion to its Twin Falls facility on Thursday.

The RV and travel trailer company said more than 300 jobs will come with the expansion.

The factory is intended to serve orders for the Western United States and Canada.

Jayco said they had other spots they could have expanded, but they were drawn to Twin Falls.

"We've had tremendous success over the past several years and really looking to expand our presence in the West and Twin Falls has been a great partner for us for the last 13 years and we have a great core group of people here and like to continue to add to that,” said Matt Thompson, the chief operating officer at Jayco.

State and local politicians spoke at the groundbreaking with Jayco officials. Dozens of people came to watch the ceremonial step toward expanding the facility.

Thompson said the company has never been selling more trailers than right now in its history.
