Sheriff's office: Jerome homicide victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds

JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - The Jerome County Sheriff's Office said the victim, whose body was found in the middle of the road Monday morning, suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

About 4:45 a.m. Monday, deputies from the sheriff's office responded to a report of a body found in the middle of the road around 400 North and 200 East.

According to authorities, 21-year-old Jerome resident Jesus Alejandro Perez-Cervantes was deceased upon arrival.

Sgt. Chad Kingsland said the crime happened at the scene where his body was found.

"No threats to the public. We believe this is an isolated incident, so we are not concerned about the neighbors in the area," Kingsland said.

He said they are following up on leads and cannot release anymore details yet.
