UPDATE: Idaho State Fire Marshal investigated Jerome house fire

JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - UPDATE 8:00 p.m.: The Idaho State Fire Marshal was called to investigate a house fire in Jerome Friday.

The call came in sometime after 6 p.m. on the 600 block of Avenue B in Jerome.

Officials said the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Fire Chief Mike Harrison, with Jerome City Fire said a family of five were not in the house when it started. Fire officials said that they were able to get out the families two dogs and two ferrets

ORIGINAL: The Jerome Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire Friday evening.

The call came in sometime after 6 p.m. on the 600 block of Avenue B in Jerome.

A reporter on scene said it looks like smoke was coming from the roof of the home.

Jerome Fire Department, Jerome City Police, Magic Valley Paramedics and Idaho Power are on scene.
