Jerome High School was chosen by Governor Butch Otter to represent the state of Idaho for a special celebration in our nation’s capital.

The group has been fundraising for nearly a year and is looking forward to taking the 36 person band to Washington D.C. to perform next month.

“When you're in band in high school, not a lot of people focus on your versus everybody else so the fact that we're able to do this is, just really exciting to get some recognition, show time.”

The band will be performing a song from the movie "cowboys" as well as a patriotic medley featuring several American pride songs.

Some of the band members have never been on an airplane and are looking forward to visiting with other bands from all across the country.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the parade today! Remember that you'll be able to view the full parade online this...
