Kimberly day care owner charged with felony

(KMVT/KSVT) - A Kimberly child care owner faces a felony charge after a two-year-old was found sleeping on a sidewalk in August.

Brandi Olsen, 28, was charged with a felony for injury to a child.

Back in August, KMVT reported that Olsen's child care licensed was revoked.

She owned Sunset Child Care, a 24-hour in-home day care service.

On Aug. 2, Kimberly-Hansen police officers responded to a call at 10:30 at night about a toddler boy sleeping outside of a home with a blanket.

Following that report, officers observed the home and said it was cluttered, dirty and was not fit for a day care.

A preliminary hearing for Olsen is scheduled for Oct. 12.
