TWIN FALLS, Idaho. (KMVT/KSVT) - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in American Falls collected trucks full of furniture and bicycles for refugees in Twin Falls. The LDS church spent four weeks collecting these items to deliver to the College of Southern Idaho Refugee Center. Tuesday morning volunteers from the church and Wells Fargo unloaded trailers filled with beds, TV's and more. Some items are new and some are used, but they say it’s all in the name of God’s love.
“We have a youth conference where we try to teach them principles and how to pattern their life after the Savior and one young lady said, 'let's gather up items and take them to Twin Falls to the refugee center,' because we know being without, it would mean a great deal to them,” Evan Call, president, says.
Call says they were overwhelmed with how much community support they received. He also says the church is proud of how hard the youth worked to put this together.
