Appreciation day garners support for law enforcement nationwide

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Law enforcement agencies across the country celebrated National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Wednesday, including those in the Magic Valley.

Agencies took to social media, asking people to wear blue to show their support and to say thank you to those that serve.

David Weigt, a corporal with the Twin Falls Police Department, said it's important to have a day like this.

“It's important for officers to get some feedback from our community members, when we're doing a good job, because people don't call us when they're having a good day, they call us when they're having a bad day and need our help,” Weigt explained.

Weigt also said it's good to get positive feedback, not just on law enforcement appreciation day, but all the time as well.
