KETCHUM, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - A Ketchum based athlete is hosting the North American premiere of his latest film.

In “North of Known,” professional paraglider, Gavin McClurg and a partner attempt a full unsupported traverse of the Alaska range by foot and paraglider.

The team faces endless extreme weather, starvation, grizzly bears, uncrossable rivers and countless glaciers.

The film made its debut at the Banff Mountain Film Festival in Canada.

“The whole crux of this expedition is getting across Denali National Park. It’s a big 110 mile section of the route, of the full route which is 500 miles. There’s a lot of drama getting there and then we get pinned down by terrible weather, snow storms for over a week. There’s just a lot of drama there,” said Gavin McClurg, professional paraglider.

The screening takes place at 6:30pm at the Limelight Hotel Ketchum on Wednesday, January 18th.

The special event is presented by Zenergy Health Club and Spa and the Limelight Hotel Ketchum.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
