TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) You might have done Boys and Girls Club when you were a kid, and you might remember the positive impact it had on your life.

Wednesday night, two local young women got to share their experience.

It was the end of year event for Boys and Girls Club, and they close out the year by choosing a Youth of the Year.

This year, it was down to Eliza and Cassidy.

Both of them had interviews with the judges and gave talks about their experience with the club, and then the judges decide.

For the executive director of the club here in Magic Valley, seeing these two grow is a real testament to the mission of Boys and Girls Club.

"It's amazing to see the people that they have become,” said Lindsey Westburg, “the aspirations they have for their future and that they relate some of their success back to their story that started at the club."

This year's youth of the year award went to Cassidy.

Along with scholarship money, she will go on to compete at the state level, and if she wins that, she can go all the way to the national stage.

Eliza isn't going without though. Both women receive scholarships for just getting to here.
