Magic Mountain holds annual free cross country skiing day

Hansen, IDAHO (KMVT/KSVT) Magic Mountain held their annual free cross country skiing event Saturday.

While cross country skiing seems like something people only think about during the Winter Olympics, Magic Mountain teamed up with a few organizations and businesses, including the High Desert Nordic Association to provide free cross country skiing lessons to people of all ages and abilities.

They do this to promote the sport and to show that it's good exercise.

Dan Cress, who runs the rental shop at Magic, explained that it’s a good workout.

“Right now it seems like everybody's more health conscious and it's an excellent thing to do for exercise,” Cress said.

Magic Mountain does this event every year and it's usually held the first Saturday in January.
