Magic Valley airport gets new flag pole

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Magic Valley Regional Airport got a new addition Saturday, as part of an Eagle Scout project.

Carson Bowman decided to install a new flag pole at the airport for his project.

The 30 foot pole took about 45 minutes to install, not including the laying of new cement, which took place a week earlier.

The 15 year old originally approached the airport two years ago, saying he wanted to do a project.

He wasn't ready for an eagle project yet, but the idea never left him.

"We decided to order this beautiful brand new flag pole, and so, that took a long time, like a month to get here. And then when it got here, there was actually a scratch on the side, so we thought we were going to have to send it back, but luckily we were able to sand that out."

His dad, mom and little brother were on hand to help out, as well as the airport manager and a few other guys to help install the pole its self.
