TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A 31-year-old man faces accusations of sexually molesting a girl from age 8 to 12.
Gino Girten appeared in Twin Falls County Magistrate Court Thursday on two felony charges for lewd conduct with a minor under the ages of 16 and one felony count of sexual abuse of a minor.
According to court documents, Twin Falls Police determined the sexual molestation occurred in Buhl between January 2010 and July 2014. The victim told police that Girten would sometimes watch pornography on television while molesting her and force her to watch. During one of the last occurrences, court documents said Girten allegedly tied up her hands.
Court documents said law enforcement contacted Girten through social media with the permission of the victim. In one of the exchanges, the person writing as the girl said, “Well my therapist wants me to work the rough the stuff we did together and i want to ask you why.” To which Girten reportedly responded “Because was an awful human being and you deserve better.”
“Why did you start? I was only a little girl,” the office asked through the girl’s account.
“IDK … I spent a long time asking my self that and i don’t have an answer and I am so sorry for everything,” Girten allegedly responded.
Later in the exchange, court documents said Girten said he didn’t remember molesting the girl because he was on so many drugs and apologized.
Girten is being held on a $250,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 21. Girten was appointed a public defender.
