Minidoka Hospital has free mammograms available for uninsured women

RUPERT, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Minidoka Memorial Hospital has grants available for uninsured women to get a free mammogram.

The tests are reserved for women between the ages of 35 and 49. They are funded by a Susan G Komen Grant.

They receive the grant every year, but they still have a lot of mammograms available for this period. The new grant period begins in March. How many people get a free test could determine how many grants they get in the future from the foundation.

The tests are given to people on a first-come first-serve basis.

“I think a lot of women maybe who don’t have insurance wouldn’t think to get one,” said Gayla Staker, a tech with the hospital.

People interested can call 208-436-8143.
