TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - A Twin Falls woman wants to spread holiday cheer to her son and his shipmates on the USS Stockdale.

Susan Miller plans to send stockings full of items to her son along with other sailors on that ship.

They're looking to collect 300 stockings for the Naval crew, wanting to fill them with items such as socks, non-perishable food and puzzles.

Miller added that they would like an abundant supply of foot powder for their boots, feminine hygiene products and stockings as well.

She is working alongside other mother's who are part of the Navy Mom's Relief Fund.

"It helps them with monetary things because all of the incidental. Erasers, shampoos and what not," Miller said. "They have to buy it themselves off the ship if they don't have enough and somebody doesn't send them from home."

Miller hopes to have all donations in by November 16 so they can be shipped in time for Christmas.

They are also looking for volunteers to help stuff the stockings on Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds.

Those who would like to donate or help, contact Susan Miller at millco2@yahoo.com or by her phone 208-948-5825.
