New information on missing Jerome teen, companion

The Jerome Police Department released more information about a missing 14-year-old girl from Jerome Thursday afternoon.
Anni Gwin who is believed to be in the company of 43-year-old Charles I. McLaughlin II. On Aug. 2, KMVT previously reported the two may be traveling to Montpelier/Bear Lake or Nevada. Now the search has expanded to the Yellowstone National Park area. They may be travelling in a black 2002 Chevrolet Impala with Idaho plates 2TZ7538. McLaughlin has both local and federal warrants for his arrest that include a charge of second degree kidnapping.
Police are working with the FBI, U.S. Marshall Services, and have sent information to National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, in an effort to help locate Anni.
On Aug. 3, he failed to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on a felony attempted destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence. A felony warrant for his arrest was issued the same day. His bond in the case was posted at $30,000 with a surety bond posted on July 28.
Police say McLaughlin is not related to the family, but is not a stranger.
Anni was last seen Aug. 1 at about 2 a.m. at her home, her mother reported her a runaway a few hours later.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has become involved in the search for Anni.
Anni was last wearing an orange sweatshirt over a pink T-shirt, and has a brown puppy with her.
