TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - The Festival of Giving is just a little more than a week away and organizers and nonprofits are getting ready for the big event.
Earlier this year, the festival was shut down because they lost their venue. However organizers came together and found a new location at the Fleur De Lis Ranch south of Twin Falls near the Magic Valley Airport.
Nonprofits were getting ready for the big event by decorating their tree that will be sold.
Anne Flannery, the president of the Idaho Education Services for the Deaf and Blind Foundation, said the festival is one of their biggest source of money that does not come from a grant.
"It was rather overwhelming to think that we weren’t going to have this opportunity because it is so rare that we get this much money in to give directly to the areas of need," Flannery said.
Flannery said the foundation has been in the Festival of Giving since they started, telling KMVT the event keeps getting bigger.
"It’s kind of scary that we’re venturing into something this big," she said.
The nonprofits have about a week to decorate their trees before the event.
The festival starts Friday, Nov. 16.
The event schedule is as follows:
-Nov. 16 is the Gala of Giving starting at 6 p.m. This is a ticketed event that is already sold out.
