(KMVT/KSVT) — Parts of Interstate 84 in Oregon remain closed Thursday, while other highway sections have opened.
The Oregon Department of Transportation said Thursday afternoon Pendleton, Ore., to Ontario, Ore., is open, but Troutdale, Ore., to Hood River, Ore., remains closed due to heavy ice on the roadway.
There are few-to-no safe parking areas in Pendleton and Hood River, they said. Motels in those communities are booked full, according to a ODOT news release.
Cove Highway from Union to Baker counties remains closed between Island City and Cove, and Pyles Canyon Highway between Union and North Powder.
