UPDATE: Two people taken to the hospital after crash on I-84 east of Jerome

JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) UPDATE 8:45 p.m.: Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 in between Jerome and Twin Falls Thursday afternoon.

Idaho State Police said the incident happened at about 1:06 p.m.

Kathryn Campbell, 21, of Farmington, Utah, was driving a 2003 Nissan 350z east when she hit the rear end of a 2014 Ford F-150 driven by Karla Diaz Saucedo, 27, of Gooding.

Diaz Saucedo's truck lost control and rolled, coming to a rest on its top.

Campbell's car continued going east, losing control and went through a fence. Her car then went across the on-ramp of a closed rest area then crashed into another fence.

Campbell and a passenger in Diaz Saucedo's truck were taken to St. Luke's Magic Valley in Twin Falls.

Authorities said all occupants were wearing seat belts. They believe that alcohol was a factor in this crash.

UPDATE 2:15 p.m.: Idaho State Police said they have opened up the right eastbound lane.

ORIGINAL: Just after 1 p.m. Thursday, Idaho State Police is investigating a crash eastbound on I84 at mile marker 171, east of Jerome.

The right eastbound lane was blocked for about an hour.
