Pulmonary Rehab facility celebrates one year birthday

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) It's almost the one year anniversary of the pulmonary rehab facility for St. Luke's Magic Valley in Twin Falls.

Before the rehab clinic opened on Addison Avenue, patients had to go to the Treasure valley or other surrounding areas to receive therapy regarding their lung health.

Most insurances cover up to 36 sessions for those with chronic conditions like COPD or have difficulty breathing could qualify for their services.

The sessions include tailored exercise programs like strength training, medication management and nutrition intervention.

“By the end of the day you're not feeling quite as tired, you're about to go to activities and doing events where it's not as fatiguing,” said Dr. Monique Middlekauff, Cardiopulmonary Services Manager. “Often times they're carrying around quite heavy oxygen tanks and that makes it very difficult to go about your day and do all of the things you want to do.”

The clinic also works as a sort of support system for others going through similar challenges.

A team of doctors and physicians will coordinate a care plan for each patient.

Check with your primary care physician to see if the facility is a good fit for you.
