Recall on almond milk

NATIONAL Check your refrigerator. Almond milk is being recalled because it may contain real milk.

Dairy distributor HP Hood is voluntarily recalling more than 145,000 half–gallon cartons of Vanilla Almond Breeze Almond Milk. The cartons have a September 2 use–by date.

And the company says the reason is because milk from a cow is an allergen not listed on the label. The FDA says consuming milk could kill someone who has a milk allergy or severe sensitivity to milk.

Anyone who purchased the recalled milk can get a full refund or exchange at the store were it was purchased.

The affected products were shipped to retailers and wholesalers in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
