TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Rupert Police Department is investigating a string of car burglaries and thefts over the past few nights on the south side of the city.

The Police Department believes the incidents are related and are investigating it. A neighboring agency helped them recover one of the stolen vehicles.

Officers with the department said the incidents have mostly been at night and have mostly been when someone sees an unlocked door.

“Keep your doors locked, lock your vehicles, and don’t leave valuables inside your vehicles,” said Richard Reusze, a corporal with the Rupert Police Department.

Reusze said people are mostly losing electronics. He also urged people not to leave firearms in their vehicles, though there have not been any stolen during this recent rash of burglaries.

The police department is encouraging people to contact them if they see anything suspicious in their neighborhoods.
