Operation Facelift featured 32 projects across three communities.

Rupert won the contest while Heyburn took second and Glenns Ferry took third.

"The communities are trying to do a new look, a new attitude and by doing that bringing in a new business," said Ervina Covcic, the administrative assistant for Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization.

SIEDO has been putting on Operation Facelift since 2001. The communities feature clean ups of public and private spaces. Rupert had 500 volunteers work on the projects.

"They couldn't have done it without all the volunteers they got this year," Covcic said.

Covcic went to view each project with the judges of the events. Seeing the projects is something she and SIEDO enjoy.

"For me it was really nice just hearing the passion behind it," Covcic said.

Amigo Auto Sales in Rupert won the "Most Improved Business" award. They will recieve a $1,000 credit to run a television advertisement on KMVT.
