TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The holidays are supposed to be merry and bright, but what about kids who may not be as lucky.
Santa’s Cause, has been teaming up with the Department of Health and Welfare to provide Christmas presents for kids in foster care.
This year the organization has put over 250 bags under the tree for kids who otherwise may not have a Christmas.
The non-profit works year round to fundraiser and purchase toys, before the case workers will deliver the gifts to the kids in their foster homes.
"You know it really is just giving back. I feel like I've been so blessed in my life, and this is one way I can help the community and help kids that are in need. It really just brings a lot of joy to my heart to be able to do it," said Kelly Peterson, Santa Cause’s Director and Founder.
Santa’s Cause doesn't only give toys for those in need, they also supply scholarships.
Their most utilized scholarship is covering the cost for braces.
