The Twin Falls School District asked parents of Harrison Elementary to pick up their child instead of having them walk home Thursday.
Eva Craner, the school district spokeswoman, said Harrison Elementary School was on a soft lockdown, meaning the exterior doors were locked.
The Twin Falls Police Department said they are executing a search warrant and the public is not in danger. Police say they take extra precautions when serving the warrant.
She said when local law enforcement give them a recommendation, they will follow it for the safety of their students.
At the end of the school day, bus riders were sent home as usual and the school asked parents to pick up the children who normally walk.
If a parent can't pick up their child, they ask parents to let the school know as staff will be staying after school until needed.
