TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Twin Falls Senior Center has surpassed previous records for meals served and are only gaining momentum.
The center serves meals directly at the center then delivers them through the Meals on Wheels program. Between the two in 2019 the number of meals could reach six figures.
The center is funded primarily through donations, and with the need growing, these fundraisers are a lifeline. For the breakfast fundraisers, attendance typically reaches over 150 people.
Center Executive Director Jeanette Rowe says the numbers speak for themselves
“It always costs a lot to do the meal program,” Rowe said. “We hit a record high this year of having meals. We did almost, we were just about 400 meals short of 80,000 this year which is about 11,000 more than we did last year.”
The center is hosting a fundraiser breakfast Saturday from 8:00-10:00 a.m.
They host a fundraiser breakfast the second Saturday of each month, but January’s proceeds go directly to Meals on Wheels.
