Shelter pets find homes for Christmas

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - Most pets at the Twin Falls Animal Shelter found a home this weekend.

This was all part of their biggest adoption event of the year — Whiskers in Wonderland. All adoption fees were waived thanks to a grant from the Seagraves Family Foundation.

About 70 cats and dogs ready for adoption went to their new homes, but six cats are still waiting for their forever home.

"We're hoping people can filter in even through this next week and see if there's a special cat they'd like to take home for the holidays and forever," said Debbie Blackwood, director of the shelter.

Blackwood says they didn't have as many dogs part of the event, so they will extend the special and waive the fees into next week as long as they have funds to cover it.

"Our goal is to find animals homes for the holidays and that's what we want to do," she added.

Stray holds on dogs will also be lifted by then. All pets are first come, first served assuming that the match is a good one.
