SHOSHONE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - A Magic Valley health care provider is receiving state recognition.

The Idaho Rural Health Association gave a rural health hero award to Pam Lowder, a clinic manager for the Shoshone Family Medical Center.

Winners are nominated and then selected by a committee, Lowder said.

She won based on the work she does for the clinic and the initiatives they put in place.

According to the association, she provides the highest quality clinic management and continues to inspire a diverse staff.

"It's fun, it's exciting. We do good work here in the clinic, but I couldn't have got this award without the staff," she continued. "We have a great staff here that does a lot of the work. I just kind of guide them and we work together as a team to accomplish what we do here for our patients."

Lowder went on to say that their patients are important to them, and they do whatever they can to get them the help they need.

She is one of eight providers who received the award.
