Car drives into median, rolls and catches fire along I-84

Two people were flown to Boise after a car rolled over and caught on fire on Interstate 84 just north of Twin Falls Thursday afternoon.

According to Idaho State Police, Lindsey Schwendiman, 18, of Boise was driving eastbound when she drove into the median. Her car rolled and caught on fire.

Her passenger, Michael Galloway, 19, of Texas, and a good Samaritan helped get her away from the burning vehicle. Schwendiman and Galloway were taken to the hospital and the road was blocked for about an hour. The car was destroyed.


Just before 1 p.m. officials responded to a crash on I-84.

The Idaho State Police is currently investigating a single vehicle rollover on Interstate 84 at mile post 173, near Jerome.

The eastbound lanes were blocked for about a half hour.

As of 1:20 p.m. all lanes are now open.

Traffic may be backed up in the area.
