The 31st annual Spudman Triathlon featured a 1.5 kilometer swim in the Snake River, a 40K bike ride and wrapped up with a 10 kilometer run.

The first wave of swimmers left the Burley boat docks bright and early at 6:50 a.m.

One runner we caught up with said the water was bearable.

"This one was great, the temperature of the water was really great. The current was good, everything was awesome. My dad has done (Spudman) for a lot of years so I kept saying 'I'm going to do it this year, I'm going to do it this year', then I never do. So in January, I signed up for it and said i'm doing it," said competitor Tristan Reep.

Ogden's Thomas Worob is your 2017 Spudman champion in the men's division, finishing the race in 1:51.

Seven men in the elite division finished sub-two minutes.

Ogden's Katie Thompson is your women's elite division champion, coming in just ten seconds ahead of second-place finisher Kate Westra of South Jordan.
