UPDATE: Twin Falls Islamic Center vandalized on Halloween

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) UPDATE 11/2:
The Council on American-Islamic Relations called for state and federal law enforcement to investigate the vandalism at the Islamic Center.

Lt. Terry Thueson, with the Twin Falls Police Department, said there was not any evidence to indicate that it is a hate crime, but are investigating it as a possibility.

He said there is no new information with the case.

If they find there is evidence to support that it is a hate crime, Thueson said they will change that classification.

ORIGINAL: Halloween almost went without incident in Twin Falls, however the Islamic Center was vandalized.

The Twin Falls Police are looking for those responsible for shattering a double-pane window.

The vandal struck sometime overnight and the broken window was found Thursday morning.

Imad Eujayl, a spokesman for the center, estimates the damage is around $1,200. He told KMVT it took almost 10 rocks to completely break one pane, and puncture a whole through the other.

Twin Falls Police Lt. Terry Thueson said there is no evidence to suggest this is a hate crime; but, there is currently an open investigation.
