Twin Falls Police investigating attempted Christmas day robbery

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Twin Falls Police Department is asking for your help in identifying a suspect in an attempted robbery.

According to police, on Christmas day, the white adult male seen in a surveillance video walked into the Phillips 66 on Addison Avenue and demanded the cashier empty the contents of the register into a bag.

When the employee refused the man turned and left the store.

Police said this attempted robbery may also be connected to the robbery of Dairy Queen earlier this month.

They can't say for sure the incidents are connected, but the man in both videos looks similar, wearing similar clothes and with a similar build.

Now they're asking for your help, saying they've had success solving similar crimes with the public's help in the past.

"On a number of cases the community has provided valuable information to us that have helped our detectives solve cases," said Lt. Terry Thueson.

If you know anything about either of these ongoing investigations you are encouraged to call Twin Falls Police Department at 208-735-7200.
