Twin Falls Sheriff's Department responds to the investigation of the baby death
Following the news of the newborn infant girl found dead in a diaper bag in Twin Falls early in the morning of December 31st, the Twin Falls Sheriff's Department has been investigating the situation.
In the late afternoon of the 31st, the following statement was issued by Lori Stewart, the public information officer for the department:
"As I'm sure you can imagine, the discovery of the deceased child was difficult for the deputies last night. Tonight as the squad gathered for their shift, the baby girl was on all of their minds. They wanted to give her a name more fitting name than Baby Jane Doe. The Deputies chose the name 'Angel Rose'. They will be raising money for a headstone and memorial for her, something they feel this little angel deserves. I will release information when the fund has been established."
Since then the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home and the Twin Falls Cemetery have stepped forward to offer funeral services, including a headstone, free of charge.
