TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A Twin Falls man faces accusations of stealing items from his employer during the past year.

The courts arraigned Nicholas M. Flechsig, 23, on four counts of felony burglary.

According to court documents, fellow Walmart employees and loss prevention staff told police they witnessed Flechsig select items from the store, place them in a deli refrigerator and later leave without paying for the merchandise after his shift.

Witnesses reported him conceal grocery items like beef, pork, buns and other merchandise like DVDs, sweatshirts, pants, sock and soda in a backpack.

A loss prevention employee who interviewed Flechsig about the items told police he admitted to stealing items about two to three times per week. Sometimes he failed to scan some items upon checkout, court documents said. Flechsig would allegedly return some items for a refund or gift card to help pay some of his bills. The estimated value of the items was $960.

Loss prevention employees provided police with surveillance footage and employee purchase logs for a couple dates Flechsig allegedly left the store without paying for merchandise.

Flechsig’s preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 5 at 8:15 a.m. in Twin Falls County.
